Why Italy · Tourism, for investors

Tourism is income. It comes with rules.

Italy is among the most visited countries on earth.

What it means for you

The second half of the sentence.

Short-term rental yield is only real after you have read the local regulation. We check the rules of the specific town before you count on the income, and we tell you where they are tightening.

  • Visitor numbers for the area, from the national statistics office.
  • What the specific town allows for short-term rentals, and what it requires.
  • A realistic yield range, gross and after the rules, for your case.

  • What this means for the area you are looking at, not the national average.
  • What you have to spend, and what it buys where you live today.
  • What we can verify for you before you travel.

Can I rent my Italian home out short-term?

Usually, with conditions. You need a national identification code on every listing, the flat-rate tax regime covers at most two apartments from 2026, and each town can add its own rules. Sirmione on Lake Garda does, and the Constitutional Court upheld it in December 2025. We read the town’s regulation before you count on the income.
